Interests:
Reading, studying, and writing about literature. Finding meaning and magic in everyday life and small, unexpected places. Enjoying art, museums, and galleries. Relaxing and taking walks. Drowning myself in music, having a good time at concerts. Conversations over good food and drinks. Laughing. Learning. Working on my journal(s). Literature & technology/digital humanities. Discovering people and artists who inspire through their uncanny ability to see hidden meanings in things, thus bringing back some ounce of beauty into our humanity and existence. Creating and finding meaningful human connections. Additional odds and ends, so on and so forth...
Favorite Music:
I cannot pin-point one single genre. It ranges all the way from the classics like The Beatles, to country/blues, to punk rock, which I listen to mostly, to rockabilly, to classical music, to dance punk, to 80's, to oldies, to jazz. Sorry if you think I'm too much all over the place. :-)
Favorite Movies:
E.T., The Sound of Music (fond memories), Shine, American History X, Schindler's List, Pippi Longstocking (yes, it's true), Me and You and Everyone We Know, Brick, Little Miss Sunshine. That was a really good one I recently saw. I also like the Notebook. Shh. :-)
Favorite Books:
Don DeLillo, John Barth, Pynchon, Faulkner, Judith Butler, Richard Rodriguez, Li-Young Lee, Joan Didion, etc. Mostly contemporary fiction/poetry and some critical work on the side.
I'm just a sucker for sweets.
